Privacy Policy

FoodieSwipe is built to collect as little data as possible. Here's exactly what we collect, why, and how you can delete it.

What We Collect

When you sign in with Apple, we receive:

• User ID — a unique identifier from Apple, used to save your favourites across devices
• Display name — only shared by Apple on your first sign-in; used to personalise your profile
• Email address — only if you choose to share it with Apple Sign In

We also collect:

• Coarse location — used to calculate distances to restaurants. Never stored on our servers.
• Profile photo — only if you choose to upload one. Stored securely in our database.
• Swipe history and favourites — stored to your account so your picks persist across devices.

What We Don't Collect

• We do not track you across other apps or websites
• We do not sell your data to third parties
• We do not use your data for advertising
• We do not collect precise GPS location

How We Use Your Data

Your data is used solely to provide the app's features — saving favourites, syncing across devices, and showing your profile. Nothing else.

Data Storage

Your account data is stored securely using Supabase, hosted in the EU. Profile photos are stored in Supabase Storage. Data is encrypted at rest and in transit.

Your Rights

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time directly from the app:

• Open FoodieSwipe → Profile tab → scroll to bottom → Delete Account
• This permanently removes your profile, favourites, swipe history, and photo from our servers
• Deletion is immediate and irreversible

Third-Party Services

• Apple Sign In — authentication provider. Subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
• Supabase — database and storage. Subject to Supabase's Privacy Policy.
• Apple Maps — used for the in-app map view. No location data is sent to Apple beyond standard MapKit usage.

Children's Privacy

FoodieSwipe is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
